It's even prettier in person. I will never forget the summer after I was in 4th grade when my family of 6 took an Alaskan vacation, in the beginning of July, when there was 23 hours of sunlight a day.
We travelled to the McKinley park to get a good view. My sister and I wandered around the the back end of the lodge to look around and came face-to-face with a Caribou. Scared the crap out of us and we ran like sin back to the front.
I will never forget the great view before, and the suprise after!
I can't speak so much for the weather on the mountain (though we could see the climbers from the plane), but it was a gorgeous fourth of July in Denali.
I worked up there and got comp air flights from one of the companies I worked with, so a friend and I went up that day. It's pretty rare to see both of McKinley's peaks that clearly. It was just amazing.
I thrived on 24 hours of daylight. It was just amazing. I needed like 4-5 hours of sleep when I lived in AK. It's super hard to describe what it's like to be wandering around in complete daylight at 3 a.m. I can remember sitting on a peninsula in the Nenana River and watching the sun set... while the moon was already high over our heads. Less than an hour later, the sun was back up. Unbelievable.

Boy does that look cold and windy, or is it my imagination?
Cool picture.
Looks cold to me too, Womat. Reminds me that winter is coming and I'm not ready.
It is beautiful.
