You definitely should, amanda! The cities (especially Lima) are nasty, but the mountains... (sigh). For what it's worth, the view in that picture can be reached via an easy trekking path in just a few hours; it's at the top of the terminal moraine above the Ishinca Valley basecamp (about 15,600'). The summit in the background is another matter entirely!
That is truley majestic but I wish there was something that would show me the scale of it. It could be enourmous or just a beautiful, large, puddle LOL

What a place!
I can see geology and glaciology at work here.
Fantastic photo.
Oh holy amazing! Wow! That's a fabulous photo! Another reason to add Peru to my "places to see" list!
Ok this is how brilliant I am. The first thing I thought was "That looks like the mint and chocolate of an Andes Candy!"
Brilliant. Just brilliant.

A good friend's boyfriend is Peruvian, and he often talks about how gorgeous it is.
Great shot, Martian!

I learn so much from this blog.
Andes Candy - I had no idea.
Lima - don't go there.
Climbing lingo - terminal moraine above the Ishinca Valley basecamp is so cool.
Peruvian men - they get around, apparently.
LMAO
Wombat, you crack me up.
