Hi everyone.
Digital Camera Magazine has just awarded their 2006 prizes, and the winner in the Animals and Nature category is simply amazing.
It might appeal to the cat-lovers among us.
Check out the link.

Thanks for the link, some stunning shots there.
That photo rocks... it's almost freaky looking, but so precise! Wow!
Now I know why I can only stand Moneypenny or Miss T-Tail licking me for a little while.
Those babies have fish-hooks on their tongues!

I would've never known that is what a cat's tongue looks like up close. do you think it is the same for dogs?
Chick I know only one fact about dogs: they perspire through their tongue.
This might mitigate against them using it as a grooming brush, as cats do. When was the last time your pooch spent an hour grooming himself?
That probably answers the question...or you could check out his tongue tonight and inspect for signs of roughness!

I know! Cats licking your skin for a few seconds is fine, but then it gets to be too much.
Of course, it makes sense if you think about it. Their tongue is essentially like our brushes: they use it to get through fur, which many times is more matted than hair.
The cat pic is amazing, however I really like the Tiger one.
I love the tiger pic and the ostrich eating a flower. Actually the only pic I didn't like was the winner. TYhere is a pic of a bluebell woods in berkshire that is gorgeous for its colour....it looks as if it came straight out of fairytale.
PS: All cats tongues are like sandpaper...Lions and tigers actually use it like a scraper to rip meat from bones.
Um, thanks for that visual of lions and tigers and ripping meat from bones. Yikes.
Wow! that is one amazing picture, but I love the tiger one!
