I love a city in the US that makes me feel as if I’m back in Europe: stores that operate on a schedule other than the posted one, cobblestone streets, and the ability to carry open containers of alcohol around. All without requiring a passport for travel – can’t beat that!

Seriously, I have to go here, too.
Where are we?
It's pretty doable for you... Savannah, GA. This photo was taken on River Street. It's a fabulous city.
Thanks Amanda, and here's a map for Savannah.
It looks like my kind of place!
What kind of places aren't your kind of place, Wombat? :) You seem pretty into most locations.
Thanks for el mapa: I've yet to figure out how to put a link into a comment or I would have added it.
Well now, that seems to be true, Amanda.
Guess I'm a travelin' man.
You cant get fried okra in Europe.
I think that gives River street the edge :)
If fried okra is your thing, Cessa, then I guess it does. :) There is some fabulous food to be had in Europe though, if you go to the right locations!
If you haven't eaten Slovak food in the home of a native yet, you have to make sure you do that! It's amazing! You'll still be there for Christmas, right? They make this fabulous soup called KAPUSTNICA that just rocks. My friends sent me the recipe and I tried to make it last year. It turned out fairly well, but I had to improvise on a few of the ingredients because we just don't have all the same ones here. Enjoy it while you're here, and hit up River Street for some okra when you get back. ;)
Amanda, I must go here! This city sounds like my kinda place! :) And Southern boys would be icing on the cake.
That they are, Circe. That they are. :) What beats a hot accent, can you tell me? *sigh* ;)
